I found that Old Spice uses way too much plastic for their packaging. In my research for a more sustainable packaging, I came across a company called “Natural Vegan” that uses natural products in all of their packaging. They would be the inspiration for this project since they make shampoos, deodorants, etc. Natural Vegan uses a recycled paper material for the bottle which is coated in a soybean wax, while the cap is made from cork. These were the materials I implemented throughout my redesign. This includes the body wash, deodorant, and hair pomade. 

Concept

I wanted to focus the brands persona around it being sustainable, masculine, and nautical. I took an already existing scent from the brand called “Captain” which I felt would fit the persona, plus it smells great. The materials I used covers the sustainable aspect. While the big bold graphics of the waves, steering wheel, rope, and text fit the masculine and nautical theme.
